Kimberly's Spiritual Father
Bishop Samuel A. Wright III
Episcopal Prelate of Grace Restoration Life Chrisitian Ministries
"I have known Kimberly for 16 years. Kimberly is a hard-working community advocate who is deeply committed to creating a bridge between churches and communities that face many serious social challenges in our city. Kimberly serves in several ministerial leadership positions at Grace Restoration Life Ministries. She is now in her fifth year of service as a Ministerial Staff Member and Minister. She is also an Elder who recently completed her theological testing and oral presentation requirements for ministry and was ordained at the Grace United Methodist Church on March 12, 2016.
Having watched Kimberly grow and evolve, I am proud to say that my spiritual “daughter” has been actively involved inside and outside of the church walls. Inside the church, Kimberly serves on our Ministerial Operations Team and assists with church service, events and affairs. Outside of the church, Kimberly is equally dedicated and involved. She routinely supports programs for the homeless and other activities that provide food and clothing to families in need. Kimberly is especially focused on efforts that improve the health and well-being of communities. After the city’s unrest last spring following the death of Freddie Gray, Kimberly immediately partnered with the Community Collaboration Division of the Baltimore Police Department and several grassroots organizations to help promote public dialogue and non-violence across the city. Kimberly is also involved in a citywide effort to recruit faith-based leaders. She utilizes her strong networking and advocacy skills, her sharp intellect, and her solid commitment to turning faith into action. My spiritual daughter has unquestionably proven herself to be a faith leader with a true commitment to social change and community improvement. I unequivocally support Kimberly’s efforts to make our beloved city a better place."
~Bishop S.A.W. III, Grace Restoration Life Christian Ministries
"I am the Founder and CEO of A People United, an international public health mission-based apparel company based in Baltimore, Maryland. Kimberly, who I affectionately refer to as “Li”, worked side by side with me for 8 years. She began as our Retail Manager in our downtown flagship store and quickly I realized she would be great in our Wholesale Department which accounts for 80% of our revenue. In one year, I appointed her as the Wholesale Manager, overseeing 9 US regions and relations with our producers in India. Her contribution to our growth and quality is incomparable. Honestly, I hated to see her go when she was ready to pursue Ministry full-time. I can personally attest to her tenacity, work ethic and perseverance. She pushed me to make changes in my own company that were difficult for me and proved to be needed and necessary.
Li (Kimberly) traveled with me to our regional shows and was involved in the development of our public health mission to provide quality education to both boys and girls living in Nepal. In her later years as Wholesale Manage, she worked with me and our mission partner, The Santi School Project, to coordinate and host a full day open house to share our mission work with Board and community members about our work building schools and improving Nepali teacher education. Coordinating with The Santi School Project Director in NY is no easy task. I have missed her presence at our office immensely and still call on her from time to time to come in and help out.
I had the pleasure of attending Li’s ordination recently. I must say, witnessing her dreams pay off was amazing and an experience I will never forget. I started the road in pursuit of my passion and purpose over 30 years ago. It makes my heart smile to see Li do the same.
She is authentic in her work and has a true understanding of the complexities of community and its disparities, not just from a local perspective but also from a national and international one.
I have my Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University and still licensed in law for the State of Maryland. I vowed to always be in Li’s corner and advise her whenever she asks. I believe in her ability to do anything she sets her mind to.
A People United supports her and her dreams."
